- Winter Electricity Market Prices
Electricity Winter Months
The far curve traded flat to the close on Wednesday as very little drove far curve prices.
Summer-15 closed at £49.50/MWh
Summer 15 closed at £52.03/MWh
Most of the days' action concentrated on the prompt and the near curve. Despite a tight capacitymargin
prompt contracts shed their value with Week Ahead falling by 55p/MWh assessed at £50.20/MWh and Day Ahead fell by £2.45/MWh,
continuing to shed the premium seen from last week and Monday, closing at £49.03/MWh.
On the near curve, contracts were kept up for the majority of the day on LNG supply fears, however power began to track a softening on the gas and contracts ended up lower, with Dec-12 closing 43p down at £49.87/MWh.
In other news, carbon prices held their previous position in a day which initially started with losses but was
buoyed again on the news that some Phase III EUA allowances may be held back until 2015.
